What do like most about being a professional dog trainer?
Being able to learn something new myself all the time, as I work with a wide variety of dogs and personalities
What behavior problems did you struggle with as a pet parent with your own dog and what kind of dog do you have?
Leroy is my first dog I raised from a puppy since becoming an instructor. He gave me a hard time with having accidents while I left him alone until he was 5 months old. I also have to work a lot to keep him from picking up bad behaviors from our older (spoiled rotten) Boxer, Harley. Currently he likes to be the tough guard dog and bark at people who pass by, despite being afraid of his own farts.

Specialites: I would consider my specialty would be basic obedience training because I love to share my love for dog training with people and basic obedience is a nice easy place to start and get someone obsessed with this lifestyle.
What do like most about being a professional dog trainer?
What I like most about being a professional dog trainer is how it has helped me become a better person. Because of dog training I’m more patient, understanding, communicative and dedicated.
What behavior problems did you struggle with as a pet parent with your own dog and what kind of dog do you have?
A behavior problem I had with my Black lab mix Riker before becoming a dog trainer was his fear of fireworks and how bad the week of the 4th of July was every year.

What do like most about being a professional dog trainer?
The thing I like most about dog training is being able to learn the ins and outs of how a dog thinks, learns, reacts, etc. And then being able to teach others this information to help them not only better understand their dogs, but to help them build better relationships with their dogs. I’ve had first hand experience with this and my own dog.
What behavior problems did you struggle with as a pet parent with your own dog and what kind of dog do you have?
I have a Boxer German Shepherd mix her name is Ellie! The behavior problems I struggle with as a pet owner include giving into my dog’s demands without making her work for whatever she’s asking for (so she expects things/begs). Also, finding the right balance between play time and down time, as my dog always feels it should be play time. Because of this, when I end play time (or don’t start it when she wants it) she becomes very vocal and mouthy.
