Educate Yourself at Dog College!

Hi all, Laura here! I wanted to clue you in on a recent discovery I made – Dog College! No, its not a real school, (if only!) but this online educational tool certainly helps you understand all different aspects of dogs! When I began work at Wag over two years ago, I came with a veterinary background and what I had learned in my Bark to the Basics class. I quickly found myself reading, attending classes, seminars, and events to learn more! Dog College is a great, simple, and free tool I will be adding to my “canine education!”

The “dog” publications Dog Fancy and Dog World are two fantastic magazines filled with info, entertainment, and more for dog owners and lovers alike. Their partner website, Dog Channel, offers everything you could ever need to know about dogs! Their Dog College program has free online “classes” that include text, charts, videos, and more. Each class you take earns you points for free things, but more importantly educates you on “dog stuff!”

Classes offered include Nutrition, Communications, Physiology, Genetics, Enviormental Science, Sociology, Geography, Health Science, and Art History. All of these relate to dogs!

I’ve always considered myself a life-long learner – that’s what you get with an elementary school teacher on staff! 🙂 This program isn’t a quick substitute if you are looking for a canine career or professional training for your pup, but would be a nice compliment to both. I think this free program would be beneficial to all who enroll – dog owners, dog professionals, dog lovers, and more!
