For What Dogs “Doo”

We all know it… one of the dreaded responsibilities of being a dog owner. Some of us had it as a childhood chore, and were sure we had to do it cause our parents hated it as well… Lugging out the shovel, scooper, or bag and… sigh….

scooping poop.

With even one dog, any and all owners know about this arduous chore. The next biggest question is what to do with it. Throwing it in the trash can makes every trip thereafter a dreadful one, burying it is time consuming, and no one wants to carry it inside and flush it!

Enter Curt Fournier, who had the same thought. His brainchild, the Powerloo, has made it from a idea to a product with national publicity. Especially helpful for dog businesses and multiple dog households, this innovative, flushable dog toilet provides sanitary disposal of dog waste.

Everyone’s first question? No, the dogs do not go to the bathroom in the toilet! After picking up the waste with a scooper (sorry folks – unless you can train your dog to actually go in the Powerloo, humans still have to do the scooping!) you push down the unlock lever, open up the Powerloo, and flush it away!

For the people who still think this is silly (there’s always someone!)… Wag ‘N’ Tails has between fifteen and forty dogs in the facility every day. If each dog poops twice a day, that is a lot of poop to scoop, bag, and take out to the trash. Now mutiply those numbers by 365 days a year. Even with our nice “Diaper Genie” saving us from the smell, it was still a lot of wasted plastic bags and poop to throw out! Not to mention all the “science-y” stuff… the fact that our waste water is cleaned by a plant, where as if we throw the poop away, it sits in a landfill.

Needless to say, the ‘Loo has been an absolutely wonderful addition to our facility! We’re cleaner, greener, and dog gone proud of it!

Day One: Curt brings his awesome team to our facility to start the rip-and-tear part. A large section of the floor was cut out to allow for a new plumbing line. They were a great group of people and are obviously experts at this!

Day Two: Here’s the Powerloo in place and functional on the second day of installation! It is in the northwest corner of the playroom.

Day Three: Curt and his team put the finishing touches on the new masonry in the floor and tied up the installation!

So.. We wag a tail in thanks to Jackie, our Director of Marketing for finding this great product, to Christine, our Owner for making it become a reality, to Curt, the man behind the invention, and of course to all of our clients, furry and human, for being patient with us while we had our Powerloo installed (and of course, for all the poop bags over the years!)!
