Kids’ Camp, July 2011
Kids at the Wag N’ Tails Dog Activity Center on Mound Road spent some time with a real police officer and his canine companion. Officer Cliff Narlock of the Warren Police Department and his police dog Ogar demonstrated several tricks and techniques for training any dog.
At the camp, kids started the day with crafts, followed by a visit from Narlock, and they finished the day by trying some of their new skills on their own dogs.
Narlock stressed the importance of positive reinforcement when training any dog. Director of communications and Kids’ Camp teacher Laura Byrd provided additional lessons and techniques.
Wag Walk for Autism, August 2011
Wag ‘N’ Tails Walk for Autism brought out more than 35 participants and their pooches to the Shelby Township store.
Together, walkers then hit the nearby Macomb Orchard Trail for a two-mile walk Saturday morning, with all funds benefiting Jack’s Place, a local charity providing support for families affected by autism.
Afterwards, they were treated to an after party and open house inside of the store, complete with food, vendors, raffles and plenty of dog food.
